A consultation as to whether a block of flats should be built at the old Radlett Fire Station site has been launched.
Consensus Planning submitted an application to build 18 flats on the Watling Street site to Hertsmere Borough Council at the beginning of June.
But the plans have been met with anger, with residents saying it is "despicable" that the site would be turned into something that would not help the area.
Plans list a 24 space underground car park, one for each of the 18 apartments, and six for people working at the space, designated for community use.
