Bovingdon youngsters are enjoying new play equipment installed in King George V playing field.
The new equipment, which is suitable for youngsters aged 18 months to six years, has been funded by a grant from Hertfordshire County Council .
The £800 grant was allocated from the county council’s locality budget to Bovingdon Parish Council specifically to pay for the equipment.
The ‘merrymeet’ equipment was installed at the beginning of July and was open to be used straight away.
Bovingdon Parish Council clerk Mike Kember said it has been well received by youngsters since the opening.
He said: "We had received a number of comments that there was nothing in the play area for that sort of age group."
Locality grants of £10,000 are available to each of the 77 county councillors to spend on community projects in their area.
