An Indian restaurant in St Albans Road , Watford, has raised £850 for a local disability charity.

Dine India customers enjoyed a four course meal and live music from The New Originals raising funds for the charity DRUM (Disability Recreation Unity Movement).

DRUM is a small charity which provides day services and supports more than 60 adults with both physical and sensory disabilities. Most members were not born with their disability but have gained it through accident or illness. DRUM’s team consists of part time staff and volunteers.

DRUM manager Sarah Sullivan said: “The restaurant was packed and everyone had the most wonderful evening.

“Dine India provided all the food that was just fantastic, their staff were all absolutely charming and the band played a fantastic set, which had everyone up dancing until late!

“We have just been bowled over by their generosity and cannot thank Dine India enough."

Among the guests was President of Watford Rotary Club Dr Malcolm Jones who said: “What a fantastic evening and for such a worthwhile cause.

“DRUM is a wonderful group and Dine India's community spirit and generosity has just been outstanding."
