Angry clubber threw bottle at female bouncer in row at Watford's bar Chocolate

An angry clubber who took offence to being thrown out of a bar, after being discovered in the female toilets, threw a glass bottle at a female bouncer.

Omar Osbourne , 20, of Brightwell Road, Watford, was spared jail after pleading guilty to actual bodily harm - despite smashing the teeth of the door supervisor, but he will be tagged for the next six months.

St Albans Crown Court was shown CCTV footage of Osbourne arguing with the security guard outside Chocolate in Watford town centre in the early hours of February 16 this year, before a friend arrives and he throws a drink at her.

Osbourne then picked up a bottle and threw it in the direction of the bouncer, hitting her in the mouth and cracking a number of teeth. David Chrimes, prosecuting, said Osbourne had been thrown out of the club after another clubber saw him in the female toilets.

While arguing Osbourne took advantage of a drink being bought outside by a friend and he threw it, and then the bottle, underarm at the bouncer, he said.

The victim was forced to undergo a tooth extraction and required extensive pain relief at a total cost of £2,000 and needed months off work at a loss of £2,640. She said she has since suffered from self-consciousness and psychological damage.

Nermine Abdel Sayed, defending, said Osbourne did not intend to cause the injuries despite the act being "more than reckless".

She said: "He does accept the stupidity of his behaviour .

"This is someone who has a great deal of potential for the future and has just started a new job as a plasterer."

Recorder Samantha Leigh handed Osbourne a 12 month prison term suspended for 24 months and he is now subject to a curfew between 7.30pm and 5.30am for six months. He must also carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and compensate his victim with £2,000, at a rate of £200 a month.

She said: "You clearly didn't like being told what to do by the door staff and reacted to it.

"I am persuaded after looking at the CCTV that this was not in the top category, but it was serious none-the-less.

"I am taking into account your age, the fact you are now working and that you have bought money with you to court.

"This is not a question of buying your way out of matters, but a show of responsibility."

Another one that will grow up to be a pathetic wife beater. Don't come any lower than hitting females. Well just above muggers and rapists.

"BROUGHT". Twice written in the article as "BOUGHT", I believe.

He'll see the tag as a status symbol! All the 'street' copy cats do innit!

Such a weak sentence put's other door staff at risk, the judge and defence lawyer know this.

They would see things differently if it was a female member of their families who had her teeth smashed.

Reckless act, reckless court decision.

Watford continues to promote it's binge drink reputation!

The comments of support for door staff are positive here! Let's hope no one else has to go through the same pain as me!
