Five released after being arrested in connection with crash which killed Jason Crane

Five people arrested in connection with a crash that killed a Croxley Green father have been released without charge.

Jason Crane, 40, died after the white van he was a passenger in crashed with a silver Audi on Saturday July 16 last year.

Four males were arrested in the wake of the crash, including a 46-year-old man from Watford, a 19-year-old man from Harrow, a 17-year-old boy from Harrow and a 20-year-old man from Dunstable.

All have since been released.

Thomas O’Leary, 23, from Harrow, who was the subject of a high profile search by police over the last year and was arrested in June, has also been released without charge.

Inspector Andy Piper, senior investigating officer in the case, said: "This was an extremely serious collision where a man tragically lost his life.

"Understandably Jason’s family have found it very hard to come to terms with what has happened and I would like to thank them for the support they have given the investigating officers throughout this extremely difficult time. An inquest will take place in due course."
