Man sectioned after threat to jump off bridge closed A41

A young man who forced the A41 to close yesterday after threatening to throw himself from a bridge has been sectioned.
Police said the 24-year-old from the Hemel Hempsted was detained under the mental health act following the drawn out incident yesterday afternoon.
Officer closed the main road between Watford and Hemel Hempstead shortly after 12.30pm.
Roads around Watford and Kings Langley were left gridlock as the road remained closed until after 4pm when the man was talked down.
