Guided bug hunt at Fishers Field Nature Reserve’s picnic day

Those keen on hunting bugs and seeing creepy crawlies up close will be able to in Bushey this Sunday.
Visitors can get an insight into the incredible world of insects on a guided bug hunt at Fishers Field Nature Reserve’s picnic day from 10.30am.
A host of activities will follow in the afternoon including bird box making, a visit from Molly the Fox of Animal Rescue, and a demonstration by Bushey-based master blacksmith and chairman of the Friends of Fisher Fields, Steve Rook.
From noon until 3pm, visitors will be able to fill their bellies with sandwiches, homemade cakes and soft drinks.
The event, which has been organised by Friends of Fishers Fields, Countryside Management Service and Hertsmere Borough Council is free - all guests will need to bring is their own picnic blanket or chair.
Mr Rook said: "The picnic day has taken place every year for the last five years, and year on year, it has attracted more and more people.
"We want to let the local community know that Fishers Field is there to be used by everyone.
"Open spaces, like Fishers Field Nature Reserve, are important, and we are grateful for all the support we have received so far."
