Chance to see buildings as part of Heritage Open Days 2012

Residents will be able to get a closer look at buildings of cultural, historical and architectural significance in Watford when they are opened up to the public this week.

Watford Central Library and St Mary’s Church, will be opening their doors from Thursday until Sunday as part of Heritage Open Days 2012.

Most of the buildings involved are usually closed to the public or charge admission for visits.

Sarah Priestley, Watford Borough Council heritage officer said: "The popularity of the Heritage Open Day events has been steadily increasing over the past few years with lots of people keen to explore new and unusual venues.

"This year we have an exciting range of interesting venues that we are sure will prove to be a big hit with visitors."
