Cyclists complete Pedal to Paris
Six members of staff at a Kings Langley print services company have completed a gruelling 300-mile cycle ride from London to Paris.
Andrew Harman, Karl Brown, Mark Patterson, Monique Rey, Steven Luff and Patrick Taylor, who all work at Annodata on Station Road, are aiming to raise £40,000 for the Royal British Legion.
They were taking part in the annual Pedal-to-Paris event which sees 240 riders making their way between the English and French capitals.
Last Thursday they left Crystal Palace FC’s Selhurst Park home in pouring rain heading for Dover.
The ride came to a memorable end at exactly 3pm on Sunday as they cycled up the closed Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe to the sound of cheers and applause from hundreds of well-wishers.
Ms Rey said: "It was so humbling, on the way to Paris we went through some lovely villages.
"But the most impressive thing for me was cycling up to the Arc de Triomphe as one of 240 riders getting there in one go.
"It is not often you close the roads of Paris for a group of cyclists."
