An Abbots Langley couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary this weekend surrounded by members of their family.
Kenneth and Jean Streeter of Stuart Close married in Leavesden on September 6, 1952, and marked the 60-year milestone last Thursday (September 6) before celebrating with their two daughters Wendy and Elaine and four grandchildren on Saturday.
The couple also received a card from the Queen which Jean, 82, said was "a real surprise".
Kenneth, 84, added: "It was marvellous and our two daughters arranged everything, we had the whole family here and we are looking forward to another 60 years.
"The key to a long relationship is simple, pick the right person to begin with.
"I cannot really explain it, we were pretty close anyway and we have never had any money worries because I have always worked."
