Sarratt Flower Show 'splendid despite summer weather'

Despite an unreliable summer, the annual Sarratt Flower Show attracted 248 entries from more than 30 green-fingered contestants.
The Village Hall was decorated with roses and dahlias as well as plenty of other flowers, vegetables and produce on display.
The day was dominated by Christine Head who won the Clutterbuck Trophy for overall show winner, as well as the Jenkins Trophy for Dahlias and the Arthur Pritchard Trophy for Roses.
She also won the Morton Neal Trophy for the person with most points over both the spring and autumn shows.
Chairman Margaret Stratford retained the Frederick Barber Trophy for Other Flowers.
New winners of both the David Osborne Trophy for Vegetables and Fruit and the Flight Cracknell Trophy for Arts and Crafts, were Steven Booth and Sarah Dobson.
Vice president Noreen Singleton won the Elsie Collins Trophy for Cookery while the Loader Trophy for Flower Arranging was shared between Barbie Knight and Natalie Morris.
In the children's classes, the A.E. Cox Trophy was won by Samuel Gill with the Three Rivers Family Trophy being won by the Dobson-Gill family.
The prizes were presented by Colin Plummer BEM, who complimented all the entrants on "a splendid show despite the unhelpful weather this year".
