Media banned from visit by Government minister

A Government health minister visited Watford General Hospital today.

Anna Soubry, who was promoted to Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Health in last week’s reshuffle, toured the building with the town’s MP, Richard Harrington.

However local media were barred from the event and the minister declined a request to answer questions from the Watford Observer.

I suppose at least she wasn't just doing it for the publicity.

When will these politicians realise their job is to serve and represent us, the British tax payer. It is not up to them whether or not the media is present, she should have no choice. It is their duty, whilst at work, to tell us what, where and why they are doing something.

And sometimes Stuegs maybe the media can act as a hindrance to people doing their jobs.

Maybe sometimes what they are doing shouldnt be broadcast to the world as it would adversly affect the people they are dealing with.

Maybe the hospital didnt want press on top of an MP and entourage walking round a hospital were patients are meant to be getting medical assistance and not become part of or their treatment affected by a media circus.

Just saying
