Youngsters from a Watford primary school can now enjoy and explore a newly refurbished playground after it was officially opened today.
The playground is at Central Primary School, in Derby Road, and although used by the school during school hours, welcomes the general public in the evenings, providing fun for children up to the age of 11. Among its attractions are a seesaw, roundabout, talk tubes and an area for toddlers and juniors.
Watford Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "One of our ongoing projects is to improve the town’s playgrounds. In the last year an impressive 12 playgrounds have been refurbished.
“Residents told us playgrounds are important, so we have invested in them for the younger generation. We are particularly lucky in Watford to have playgrounds in many different locations that are so popular with children.
"This wonderful playground has benefited from a small increase in size, a wide range of new equipment and has already proved to be a big hit with the Central Primary School children," she said.
