Francesca Attwood presents her massive cheque - in every way - to the delighted Monday Club.
An Abbots Langley charity that organises activities for adults with learning disabilities has benefited from three substantial donations totalling more than £2,000 in recent weeks.
The Monday Club received £2,290 from three fundraisers, money which will be used to help with the cost of providing activities for its 34 members.
The largest single donation came from Francesca Attwood, whose aunt is a member of the group. Her sponsored skydive raised £1,440.
In addition, a scavenger rally organised by The Unicorn Pub raised £350 while year 11 pupils at Parmiter’s School donated £500 as well as volunteering at the group.
Organiser John Fisher said despite being entirely volunteer-led, the group relies on donations to help subsidise activities.
He said: “This sort of donation does help us to carry on our intense programme that we offer for our members.
“Over the past eight or more years we have been lucky enough to have pupils come along as helpers.
“The nicest thing is that each and every one of them has been a pleasure to know and a credit to not only their own generation but their parents and the school.”
