Free lunchtime jazz at St Mary's Church proves a big hit
6:30pm Tuesday 18th September 2012 in News By Amie Mulderrig, Features Writer
A free music concert at St Mary’s Church, Watford, proved a huge success this lunchtime.
Host Derek Mander, founder of The Jazz Workshop in Croxley Green, said he organised the hour-long event in a bid to bring music to the masses.
Crowds gathered at the church in Church Street, for performances by Mr Mander on the piano, Mike Sherwood on vocals, Wally Shaw on bass, John Ridge on trombone, and Ronnie Findon on clarinet.
Popular favourites played at the event included Georgia On My Mind, Have You Met Miss Jones and The Girl From Ipanema.
