Grants of up to £2,000 available from Watford Borough Council

Grants of up to £2,000 are available from Watford Borough Council for projects which improve or celebrate the town.

The new "small grants fund" will give out money to any group or organisation taking part in a public clean up, or an event which celebrate the town's history community and diversity.

Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said "This is a great resource for local groups looking to hold an event to celebrate our heritage or community, or clean up the town in some way."

Success projects include a litter pick and bulb planting at North Watford Playing Fields and Nara Woods.

To apply email community@watford.gov.uk or telephone 01923 278319.

So good to know that Watford has so much spare money it can continue on its discretionary spending program whilst simultaneously wasting millions building a bridge over the pond.

Maybe the recession is only in the real world. Dotty should try visiting it one day, it will make a change from her ivory tower.
