4:40pm Tuesday 25th September 2012 in News By Amie Mulderrig, Features Writer
Aspiring musicians wishing to find out more about Purcell School in Bushey are invited to attend an open morning.
Prospective pupils and their parents can explore the Aldenham Road specialist music school on Saturday, October 6, from 10am until 12.30pm.
Throughout the morning, there will be an opportunity to meet the new headmaster David Thomas and director of music Quentin Poole, tour the school guided by current pupils and meet the heads of instrumental departments.
Guests will also be able to visit the school’s recording studios and see the music technology department in action, as well as hear some of the school’s finest musicians.
Refreshments will be available and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions on all aspects of school life.
The Purcell School is a boarding and day school, educating 170 musicians aged from nine to 18.
It is the oldest specialist music school in the UK, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and can boast many former pupils who are now famous musicians. To book a place on the open morning, visit: www.purcell-school.org.
The school will be holding a second open morning on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
