Motorists face rush hour traffic chaos
10:09am Wednesday 26th September 2012 in News By Amie Mulderrig, Features Writer
Motorists were caught in heavy tailbacks from the M25 near Langleybury, down Hempstead Road, Watford, after two separate crashes this morning.
Police received a 999 call at about 8.37am, following reports of a car crash at the A41 bypass, near Hemel Hempstead.
Sarah Spence, police spokeswoman, said: "We had reports that a black Ford Fiesta had gone into the central reservation, at the entry of the slip road at the Two Waters junction, southbound.
"We believe the vehicle spun, after hitting the central reservation."
The car was quickly removed from the scene, and no-one was reported hurt.
Police were called again at 9.04am to the A41 Hemel Hempstead to Watford route, just prior to the M25 junction.
This followed reports of an accident involving a green Fiat Punto and a silver Saab estate.
According to police, no-one was hurt, and the area was cleared, but one lane was blocked, which has contributed to heavy traffic in surrounding roads this morning.
The accidents came in a morning when traffic was already gridlocked around the town due to a crash and a broken down vehicle on the M1.
