Youngsters and teenagers at a table tennis club in central Watford a chance try out their new table this week.

The new kit was installed in the Centrepoint Community Centre last week following a £2,500 grant to the club last month.

On Friday, youngsters at the club got a chance to use the new table.

David Abraham, who founded the club in his garage last year, said it had had two other tables donated over the last months to help it grow.

He said: "We have three new table tennis tables and we just started off with an old one in my garage."

The Monica Close resident founded the club to give youngsters on the estate a productive and healthy activity to get involved with.

He chose table tennis as it was a sport he had loved since learning it at school in South Africa.
