Disabled teens will have the chance to take part in a new youth group if a pilot scheme is successful.
Elstree, Borehamwood and Radlett Mencap is trialling the new club for 13 to 18-year-olds at Aldenham Country Park, Elstree, on Thursday, October 4.
Six teenagers will be attending the trial sessions, thanks to a £300 donation from Councillor Ernie Butler (Cowley Hill).
Sandra Lewis, Mencap secretary, said: "These sessions will help us to be able to plan for the future and hopefully make the group a permanent fixture."
The new youth group would see teenagers take part in weekly two-hour sessions at the adventure playground in the park.
Councillor Butler said he is thrilled to be able to support Mencap. He added: "Mencap provide invaluable work and this money will provide the needed stimulation for disabled teens."
