MP pays tribute to council candidate MP pays tribute to council candidate

Watford’s MP has paid tribute to a former Conservative council candidate who has passed away as a "dedicated and enthusiastic local champion" with an "infectious smile".

Richard Harrington said he had spent time with Michelle Baudin during his 2010 election campaign and also afterwards.

Ms Baudin, of Rosehill Gardens, in Abbots Langley, died on Saturday, September 22, age 40, following a longstanding illness.

Mr Harrington said: "I was very upset to hear the news that Michelle had been taken seriously ill and later died. I will always remember her as dedicated and enthusiastic local champion, who had a permanent and infectious smile.

"She will be greatly missed by many people and my thoughts are with her family and friends at this very difficult time."

Ms Baudin stood for the Conservatives in the Langleybury ward in last year’s Three Rivers District Council elections.

Steve Johnson, chairman of Watford Conservative Association, also paid tribute to Ms Baulkin.

He said: "It was a real shock. We are very saddened by it.

"She had great energy and enthusiasm. She was always out to deliver leaflets and getting involved in local issues.

"She was brilliant, she was a lovely person."

I'm saddened to hear that Michelle has passed away, I went to school with her and she always made the most of everything due to her health problems. Always up for a laugh and done really well in management at Mcdonalds.
If anyone could post on here when her funeral is please let me know as I want to pay my respects, god bless you Michelle and rest in peace xxx
