RAF cadets from Rickmansworth Squadron Air Training Corps receive new minibus
A squadron of RAF cadets from Rickmansworth have been presented with a new minibus following a two year fundraising campaign.
The cadets aged between from the 1280 Rickmansworth Squadron Air Training Corps were handed the keys to the Citroen Relay by the West Herts Charity Trust on Saturday (October 6).
The minibus will be used to transport the 45 cadets, aged between 13 and 17, to flying sessions at RAF bases and on other activities such as Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
The squadron has taken part in a number of fundraising activities in recent years to raise £3,000 towards the new bus including a generous contribution from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Hertfordshire.
Their commanding officer, Flight Lieutenant Dylan Foster-Edwards said: "The addition of this asset to the squadron will provide the cadets and staff the ability to widen the number of activities we undertake such as visiting various local forces establishments and provide a more efficient system of assisting the cadets in attending flying at RAF Halton, RAF Benson and various wing training events."
