Train delayed by ticketless traveller who refuses to budge

Watford commuters faced delays this morning when a man boarded a train without a ticket and refused to move.

Hertfordshire Police and the British Transport Police were called to Watford Junction at 9.30am where the man was being abusive to passengers and staff.

He had no ticket and refused to buy one. The train could not be moved while the incident was going on, so he was escorted from the train and went voluntarily to hospital.

Officers left the scene at 11am.
