The Mayor of Hertsmere has praised fundraisers from Bushey Grove Leisure Centre and Bushey Golf and Country Club for their efforts in helping to collect thousands of pounds for charity.
Mayor Councillor Pat Strack has revealed more than £7,000 was raised for her chosen charity Hertfordshire Air Ambulance during Go Red week, held at the end of September.
Fundraisers across Hertsmere took part in a variety of activities including charity football matches, coffee mornings, golf games and an exercise marathon for GO RED week.
Conservative Ms Strack said: "I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped make Go Red week a huge success. I’m over the moon that we have collected £7,000 so far, particularly given how tough times are.
"People are still collecting money too – it’s all trundling on.
"My whole year is dedicated to collecting cash for Hertfordshire Air Ambulance, so we have a number events still to come, including a charity golf match at Bushey Golf and Country Club in April."
