A relative of Holocaust survivors has given a personal account of her family’s ordeal as part for a meeting at Radlett and Bushey Reform Synagogue.
Helen Hyde, headteacher of Watford Girls Grammar School and synagogue chairwoman, relayed her story in front of a packed audience at the religious building in Watling Street on Thursday.
Mrs Hyde has dedicated her life to educating people about the Holocaust and was one of only a handful to give evidence at the trial of Nazi war criminal Ivan "John" Demjanjuk.
During the presentation she also showed the audience a photo of her family during the war.
