A charity campaigner who visited 20 Premier League football clubs in 36 hours is to auction the football memorabilia he collected in Bushey.

Watford dad Maz Ataie, embarked on the 1,000 mile mission in July this year to raise cash and awareness for The National Autistic Society.

Mr Ataie, of Lower Trail, is  an ambassador for The National Autistic Society and in his voluntary role,  spends a great deal of his time fundraising and trying to raise awareness of how difficult life can be for people with autism and their families if they do not have the right support.

He said: "So many children love to play and watch football. Unfortunately kids with autism and other disabilities often don’t have the chance to get involved as teams find meeting their needs a challenge.

"The Premier League tour was all about raising awareness and encouraging football clubs to offer coaching at a grassroots level, so that all children are able to experience the pleasure and camaraderie that the beautiful game can bring.

"We received fantastic support from the clubs and managed to bag some brilliant goodies along the way, including a football signed by the Chelsea team.

"The Premier League club tour was a fantastic way of spreading the autism message across the country.

"It’s an invisible disability so people aren’t always aware of the challenges those with the condition can face and the level of support they need."

Mr Ataie collected an impressive array of memorabilia including shirts signed by all the Tottenham Hotspur players, a Wayne Rooney signed shirt and a ball signed by the European Cup winning Chelsea team. He also has two shirts signed by Pele.

These items will be auctioned at the Metropolitan Police Sports Ground in Aldenham Road, Bushey on November 16.

The event is open to everyone, with tickets priced at £7 each and include a buffet and a disco. As well as the auction, there will be a raffle on the night and prize contributions are welcome.
