Police offer home security advice to shoppers
Shoppers in south west Hertfordshire on Saturday picked up some helpful home security advice along with their weekly groceries.
Operation Scorpion, coordinated by Hertfordshire Constabulary, saw stalls set up in a number of busy areas including supermarkets and high streets.
Workshops were held in Watford General Hospital cafe, Tesco in Harefield Road, Rickmansworth, Tesco in Shenley Road, Borehamwood and outside Wilkinson’s in The Maltings, St Albans.
In Rickmansworth, Sergeant Ryan Hemmings, members of the Neighbourhood Watch and Three Rivers District Council spoke to shoppers and signed people up to the OWL (Online Watch Link) programme.
Sue Thompson, Three Rivers District Co-ordinator for Neighbourhood Watch said: "Many customers in the store reported how nice it was to see the police officers and neighbourhood watch representatives working together.
"We are all very grateful to Tesco for allowing the roadshow the room to promote a safer Three Rivers. It is another good example of the Community working together."
