Father Andrew Burton: "I think the trust will be chuffed with what we've collected."
Crowds of people gathered at St Peter’s Church in Bushey on Sunday to celebrate the Harvest Festival.
Services were held throughout the morning starting at 8am, with the last at 11.15am, followed by lu luncheon. Visitors brought a number of tinned goods and toiletries which will be donated to The Watford New Hope Trust.
Father Andrew Burton said: "I believe we’ve supported Watford New Hope Trust since its inception, long before I came here. It’s a worthy cause to support and a wonderful example of one of the practical out-workings of our faith at St Peter’s.
"We had an excellent turnout, certainly more than for a usual Sunday. Stacks and stacks of goodies were donated, about 30 to 40 carrier bags-worth of stuff, and I think the trust will be chuffed with what we’ve collected."
