Estate agent's pledge to charity
A Bushey estate agent has chosen to back Macmillan Cancer Support by donating £100 from every house sold by staff.
Benjamin Stevens, which is based in High Road Bushey Heath, as well as in Edgware, will support the charity over the next 16 months.
According to representatives from Macmillan, the £100 donated from each completed house sale will make a real difference to the charity, paying for a nurse for four hours which for someone living with cancer could mean two hours with pain relief.
£100 could also pay for a Macmillan Grant that buys fresh bedding for a person who is dealing with nausea, night sweats or incontinence because of their treatment.
Steve Wayne, from the estate agents, said: "At Benjamin Stevens we have all known someone, a friend or family member that has suffered with cancer and have seen firsthand the incredible work that Macmillan do, so we are very proud to support Macmillan in our local community."
Kerry Briars, charity fundraising manager for Hertfordshire praised the efforts of staff.
She said: "This is great fundraising and awareness for Macmillan.Thank you so much to Benjamin Stevens Estate Agents for getting on board with the promotion and helping to improve the lives of people living with cancer."
