Wenta wants firms to take a STEP in the right direction

As the STEP Enterprise Scheme agent for Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire Wenta is calling on forward-thinking employers to sign up for the scheme.

Graduate Programmes are seen as a cost effective way to get innovative and enthusiastic new blood into an organisation, especially in this economic climate when resources are limited.

Ambitious graduates are eager to secure placements that offer them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and gain valuable work experience that will give them an advantage in the highly competitive job market.

Graduates in this skilled labour pool can add real value to a company.

Companies needing extra manpower with a specific skill set and at a relatively low cost would do well to consider the STEP Enterprise Placement Scheme.

The work placements last up to 12 weeks and although the host organisation must pay the graduate they don’t have to pay any National Insurance or tax because the scheme is viewed as training.

Many of the placement companies have been so impressed with their Graduate they have offered them a full time position.

This has saved the company the significant cost of recruitment but also provides them with the long term benefit of an employee they know is right for their organisation.

The scheme is available to all small to medium sized companies and to 2008 or 2009 graduates from a British university.

The programme can only accept new placement companies if the organisation registers an interest by signing a form before March 31.

If you are interested in providing a placement under this scheme in your company, please contact education@wenta.co.uk or telephone 0845 371 0891. Full details of all the projects are available on www.stepenterprise.co.uk.
