Financial Management Group to sponsor Watford Mancap’s Diamond Jubilee Ball

The Financial Management Group has been announced as the main sponsor of Watford Mencap’s Diamond Jubilee Ball on January 29.

The Financial Management Group, financial planners and wealth management consultants based in Amersham and covering the South East, is headed up by Chris Mellor Dip PFS, Cert CII (MP), who started the company with his brother Alister in 1993.

Chris, 50, first came across Watford Mencap in 2009 at it’s Celebrity Golf Day and has been a firm supporter of the charity ever since.

The chairman of the Ball Committee explained: “We are raising money for Watford Mencap Children’s Centre, which is a lifeline for children with a learning disability and their parents.

“As a parent I know how difficult it is to bring up children, but raising a child with a disability brings challenges I can’t begin to imagine. We hope to raise at least £20,000 at the Ball.”

The Children’s Centre supports 150 families of children with a learning disability and needs to raise £200,000 each year to survive.

The Comprehensive Spending Review has meant that Hertfordshire County Council has cut its funding for the charity’s Saturday Club, making the Ball’s success even more important for local families.
