Three sisters, all past or present students at St Helen’s School in Northwood, have had good reason to relax this summer after bringing home an impressive set of examination results.

The three Orloff sisters, Megan, Courtney and Roxanne, received their university, A Level and GCSE results during the summer, achieving remarkable success all round.

At the beginning of the summer Megan, 21, an alumna of St Helen’s who left the school in 2011, received a first class honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, and now intends to remain in Sheffield to teach Maths, having been awarded a scholarship by the Institute of Mathematics.

While at St Helen’s, Megan was Charities Prefect and Head of the RAF Section in the school’s Combined Cadet Force.

A-level student Courtney, 18, achieved an A* in Biology and A grades in Mathematics and Chemistry.

During her time at St Helen’s she was deputy head girl and an active leader in the CCF’s RAF Section, ran the school Science Club and was a member of the Phab charity team, helping to organise and run a residential week of activities and friendship for a group of disabled children.

Courtney will now follow her older sister to the University of Sheffield, where she will study Dentistry.

Youngest sister Roxanne, 16, who received her GCSE results, was delighted to discover she earned eight A*s and three A grades. Roxy will now enter the Sixth Form at St Helen’s, where she will study Economics, History, Mathematics and Religious Studies at A Level. Roxy has also been involved with CCF as Head of Year 11 Flight (RAF).

The sisters have also raised more than £25,000 during the past three years for Help for Heroes.

The girls have marched with the CCF at half time at Watford Football Club, published a cookbook with cadet and celebrity recipes, and bagged shopping for customers at Waitrose in Northwood alongside boys from Merchant Taylors’ School, all in aid of the charity.

During sailing season Roxanne sails with the Colne Valley Special Sailors on Saturdays at Rickmansworth Aquadrome, and for the remainder of the year she volunteers for another initiative, offering activities for young children to help boost their self-esteem.

Parents Simon and Danielle are absolutely delighted with their talented trio while Dr Mary Short, Headmistress of St Helen’s, congratulated them on their success and wished them well for the next stage of their education and careers.

She said: "We are particularly grateful for all they gave in time, effort and fundraising to support St Helen’s and our wider local community."
