Members of Maple Lodge Conservation Society spent Saturday night trapping and recording 40 species of moths.
The event, part of National Moth Night, was organised to help protect the abundant moth life at the Maple Lodge Nature Reserve.
The moths, trapped by a light source to a white plastic sheet, were identified and recorded before being released.
Many of those trapped, including the Cream Bordered Green Pea, were extremely rare.
At 2pm next Sunday (June 22) Maple Lodge Conservation Society is organising a guided tour to examine the reserve’s many butterfly species.
