Pub taken over by BBC film crew

A Watford pub has been transformed into a television film set, after being taken over by a BBC camera crew.

The Beaver, in Courtlands Drive, has become a makeshift television studio for the next two days, after crews from the BBC3 sitcom, Coming of Age, commenced filming at the pub.

The cast and crew from the show, which follows the ups and downs of a bunch of teenagers, are currently filming the sitcom's second series.

Lesley Edwards, landlady at The Beaver, said it isn't the first time film crews have taken over her pub.

An advert warning of the number of motorcyclists involved in road traffic collisions was also filmed at the pub, while a BBC1 film crew is scheduled to use it later this month.

Lesley said: “It is lovely to be asked, it is wonderful.

“I haven't got a clue why so many crews film here, it is probably because it is such a big site, but of course it could just be my glowing personality.”
