A 56-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Abbots Langley on Friday evening.
Police were called to a property in College Road shortly before 8.30pm to reports of an unconscious woman.
On arrival the woman was pronounced dead.
It is believed she had last contacted a friend previously that evening at about 7.30pm.
Hertfordshire Police are not treating her death as suspicious and have passed the investigation over to the coroner's service.
