An Abbots Langley man accused of impersonating police at London’s G20 demo appeared in Court on Friday.
David Vannen, 38, of Upper Highway, pleaded not guilty to impersonating a special constable or member of a police force in Pennington Street, London, on April 1, with intent to deceive.
He also denied wearing an article of police uniform, namely a NATO helmet and blue overalls so nearing that of a member of a police force.
Police believe Vannen was among a group who were stopped in an six-wheeled Alvis Saracen, a model once used by the British Army in Northern Ireland.
The armoured vehicle was emblazoned with the word "Riot" and had police-style black and white chequered livery.
Vannen was bailed to join ten co-defendants at a four-day trial at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court on February 8, next year.
