Police appeal for witnesses following crash on M25 near Bricket Wood

A Jack-knifed lorry blocking the anticlockwise carriageway of the M25 near St Albans is causing eight miles of traffic.

The busy motorway has been closed between junctions 22 (St Albans) and 21 (M1/Bricket Wood) since 11.30am this morning.

It is believed a lorry and two cars crashed into the jack-knifed lorry.

Tailbacks had stretched to junction 25 (Enfield) at around 2pm, however, it is now reported there are upto eight miles of traffic.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is warning motorists to avoid the area and ask anyone who witnessed the accident to call 0845 330 0222.
