Two sisters who feared their charity walk in China might fall foul of the British Airways strike are optimistic they will be flying this afternoon.
Sharon Kelly of Leavesden and her sister Julie McNicol of Garston are booked on a 4.15pm flight from Heathrow to China, where they hope to complete an 80-kilometre route along the Great Wall, raising sponsorship for research into muscular dystrophy.
Sharon, whose son sufers from the disease, said this morning: "We haven't been told we are not going, so hopefully it will be OK. We are going to get down to Heathrow, but we won't find out for certain until we get there."
