Police have revised their description of a man wanted in connection with an attempted burglary in Hunton Bridge.

Yesterday we were told that the subject of this photo-fit was a "black man with a light complexion."

Officers have now admitted a mistake was made and have revised their description of the suspect.

The man is wanted in connection with an attempted distraction burglary in Hunton Bridge between 6.20pm and 6.30pm on Thursday, January 31, when two men tried to break into the home of an elderly lady in Lauderdale Road after telling her they needed to turn off her water supply.

The man is now described as white, aged 24 to 30, between 5 ft and 5 ft 4 inches tall, of slim build with short light brown hair and light coloured eyes. He was also wearing a dark jacket, police believe.

A second man, aged 28 from Maple Cross, has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed until March 11.

Anyone who recognises the revised description or has any information about the burglary is asked to contact police on 01923 472408 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
