An organisation that provides advice and guidance to more than 400 community groups in Watford has received a six-figure grant from the borough council.
The Watford Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) received a grant for £105,355, which will be used to continue its work while increasing training for groups and "health checks" that help identify areas of work that can be improved.
The Watford CVS will also launch new web services for the town's voluntary groups, and continue to represent the voluntary sector on the One Watford Local Strategic Partnership and match funds worth nearly £250,000.

Bob Jones, chief executive of Watford CVS, said: "Without active voluntary and community groups, a town is bleak and inhospitable.
"This funding is an investment in Watford's future as a healthy community. Watford Borough Council's support is vital for our work and their support for the voluntary sector is vital for Watford."
