Two childhood friends and former Watford Grammar School for Girls pupils are hoping to scale Britain's three highest mountains as part of a gruelling 24 hour challenge.
Madelaine Savage, known as Maddy to millions of BBC Radio 1 listeners, and school friend, Jenny Stevens, are part of a team busy preparing to climb England, Scotland and Wales' highest mountains in just one day.
Maddy, 26, is now one of BBC Radio 1's senior news reporters, while 27-year-old Jenny works as a doctor.

The pair have been close friends since they were 11-year-old students at Watford Girls and both regularly return to Watford where their families still live.
Maddy, who recently spent nearly five months volunteering and travelling in Madagascar, Australia and New Zealand, has been organising the duo's Three Peak Challenge for the past four months.
Next weekend the pair will finally take on the demanding task and although Maddy says she is excited by the challenge she admits to being a little nervous.
She said: "We climbed Snowdon last weekend and that really brought it about how challenging it is going to be.
"I think everyone knows how hard it is going to be but we just want to make the most of it."
The pair, along with the other 11 members of their team, will set off up Scotland's Ben Nevis - the highest mountain in Britain - at around 6am on next Saturday morning.
After reaching the top of the 1,344 metre high peak the team of 13 walkers and two drivers will then travel by minibus to Scafell Pike, in the Lake District, where they will then take on the 978 metre slope.
After completing the second slope in total darkness, the team will grab 40 winks on their way to Snowdonia, in north Wales, before taking on the 1,085 metre high mount Snowdon.
Jenny, who has been carrying out limited training in Wales, says she will be relying on "will power" and "determination" to get up the three mountains.
She said: "I like getting out and about but I wouldn't say I'm an avid mountaineer.
"This is just something we always thought we would quite like to do and it is always fun to do in a group."
Maddy says the team will take as long as necessary to complete the task, although she hopes to have set off down Ben Nevis and reached the top of Snowdon within 24 hours of each other.
The team are also aiming to raise at least £5,000 for Cancer Research UK.
She added: "Twenty-four hours is the aim, but realisticaly, particularly because so many people have now got involved, we are saying we will definitely do it in a weekend.
"Some people do it in 24 hours, some people do it from peak to peak in 24 hours - and I definitely think we can do that."
