Firefighters from Rickmansworth were called to a back garden in Maple Cross this afternoon after a wooden fence was engulfed by flames.
The fire, which started at about 3.30pm at a property in Longcroft Road, was quickly extinguished and nobody was injured.
Its cause has not yet been established but firefighters believe it may have been ignited by today's warm weather.
