THE long-awaited Croxley Rail scheme failed in its bid for Government funding, it was announced yesterday (Thursday).
The Department of Transport said that the £97million scheme was still under review and they were waiting for more details to come through from Hertfordshire County Council.
The news will come as a blow to campaigners and passenger groups alike.
If built, it would have allowed commuters to board the Metropolitan line at Watford Junction, West Watford and Watford High Street, meaning quicker access into London.
