An account of the 1964 Watford Sound competition prompted Colin Sillwood, of Bovingdon, to write in: "On a different subject, I was pleased to see the photos of the rock groups of the 1960's published on October 7 as I was involved with a group myself at this time, Guitars plus Two, who were mentioned in the list of groups taking part in the 1964 Watford Sound Competition.

"I was the vocalist. Other members of the group were Lew Terry, lead guitar; Tony Town, rhythm guitar; Pat Burke, bass guitar; and Terry' on drums.

"It was a wonderful time for us all during that era of rock n' roll. We even had the pleasure of performing on the same bill as Johnny Kidd and the Pirates when they came to the Town Hall.

"More often, we played at dances, youth clubs and weddings, although in a previous incarnation as The Twilights we had a regular spot performing at the Gaumont Cinema during the interval at Saturday morning pictures."
