A question about a London Transport shop in Watford prompted John Maguire, of Westbourne, Bournemouth, to write: "I remember the bus office in Market Street, just opposite the old post office.
"London Transport used to run its green RTs to Watford's away games. It also ran one bus on Saturdays to Tottenham's home games, and there may have been others, for the benefit of Spurs supporters living in and around Watford.
"In the 1950's and early 1960's you had to get permission to hire a coach from other operators, such as Premier Travel, for travel in the London Transport area, and this was not always given.
"Over Christmas in 1964, Watford played at Luton, and only London Transport was allowed to provide transport. To their credit, they ran several 'extra' or 'duplicate' 321s.
"The office moved from Market Street to a car park entrance opposite The Gaumont, but I don't know when this was."
