Mrs C Bromell, of Rickmansworth, wrote in with an appeal for pictures. She writes: "Does anyone have pictures of Pinecroft', Nightingale Road, which was owned by the Beeson family who were ironmongers. This stood on the site of Nightingale Court Flats.
"Pictures of their soft fruit garden', too, would be wonderful, to be able to see how the planting has changed over the years, particularly as it now has a Tree Preservation Order on the area.
"A relation built the property next door and a strip of land from the bottom of the fruit garden through to The Drive was owned by this relation. The land was used by the Beeson family as a pathway through to The Drive. This saved them having to walk back up the hill and round into The Drive.
"It is written into the deeds of this property that it could not be planted or built on. Although it is owned by the adjoining property, there is a hedge between it and the garden to 156 The Drive."
