Recent mentions of Tommy Dando, a former Watford cinema organist, prompted Len Hooker to write in by e-mail.

He writes: "While I was doing my Army National Service in Fayid on the Suez Canal, in 1950, I visited Cairo. While I was there I went to a cinema and was surprised to see Tommy Dando playing the organ. I do not know how he came to be playing there. Perhaps a reader may know."

Do any readers have any recollections, or pictures of Tommy Dando? Can anyone explain how he came to be playing a cinema organ in Cairo? Were there any other organists?
