Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman brought a touch of glamour to South Oxhey on Monday when she visited to film scenes for her latest movie Birthday Girl.

But the estate will be denied the chance to flirt with fame, because it had to pretend to be Radlett for the purposes of filming.

A scene was shot outside South Oxhey police station, but a sign reading Radlett Police Station replaced the original one.

The story, written by Tom and Jez Butterworth, tells of the trouble a mild-mannered bank worker, John, played by Ben Chaplin, gets into when he orders a Russian bride through the Internet and the enigmatic Nadia (Kidman) arrives.
