A pet ferret has given birth to a staggering 13 babies in the back garden of a house in Watford... and experts believe it may be a record.
Three-year-old Mitsy produced and reared her magnificent second litter without any help from her owner Philip Norcott, 20, of Rose Gardens. Only one of the young animals did not survive and Mitsy’s litter are successfully sharing eight teats.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw how many she had. My friends couldn’t believe it either,” said Philip, a fitter.
He uses two pints of milk a day to feed his 22 ferrets and gives Mitsy heart, liver, mince and eggs.
