Ryan Shrives,19, had a big choice to make just over a year ago.
With apprentice interviews with several companies lined up, he opted to accept one at Travis Perkins and one year on he proudly accepted the Management Apprentice of the Year award at the builders merchant, who regularly feature in Britain's top 100 employers.
Ryan has been based at the Rickmansworth branch since September 2013 and will graduate in 2015.
The scheme offers a Level 3 Management Apprenticeship with the aim of delivering the company's managers of the future. The qualification is equivalent to two A-Levels.
Ryan's mentor and branch manager Sean Mahon said "it has been an absolute pleasure working with Ryan over the last 12 months. We are all immensely proud of him and this achievement".
